Here is another video from the folks at the Central Christian Church of Las Vegas (pictured above), the people behind the video I posted last week about, “Why people don’t come to Church“. “Amazing Grace” has always been something of a favourite of mine. It is sung very well in this video, but the singing is almost immaterial; it’s the content that counts. They have managed to get across, in a very simple way, what that “amazing grace” might mean in today’s world.

Andrew Gosden (now 16) has been missing from his Doncaster home since 14 September 2007. The search continues.
That’s interesting Paul. My view of that hymn was changed forever by hearing an inspirational blind speaker, who really struggled with the first verse. He said to those listening, how would people feel if the first verse was changed to
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
Which brought me to the light
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was black but now I’m white
That thought has stuck with me ever since.
Thanks Mary, and a warm welcome to the blog.
That’s quite a thought; and does change things. Thinking about it light that, I can certainly imagine words in there that I might struggle with a bit.
