Friday Foto

You may remember the post I made back in June about the Passion Flower in our garden. At the time I wasn’t able to get a photo of it myself because it was inaccessible. It has spread considerably now, and covers the top of the Burberis bush that it’s clinging to. And so I was able to take a photo this week. My timing was good, because there was a Bee collecting pollen.

I’ve often thought recently that I would really like a new camera, perhaps a nice Digital SLR. But I’ve come to the conclusion that for most of what I want a camera for these days my little old beastie is more than sufficient. It’s quite old, but was a high-end compact camera when it was bought new. It’s only a 2 mega pixel resolution, but that’s enough for smallish pictures on a computer monitor — my main need.

I was lucky enough to capture this Peacock Butterfly on the Buddleia on the same day.

Surprising what you can find in that little over-grown patch. You’ll have to bring your camera up with you next time you come home. :)

Thanks Steve and Tom. I was amazed how close I was able to get to both the Bee and the Butterfly. I put the camera into its macro mode, and managed to get to within a foot of both of them. All I needed to do was crop and resize the images a bit.
