Friday Foto

I mentioned recently that I’d been baptised in Godmanchester Church, where I still worship and minister today. I thought it would be good to include a picture of the font as one of my Friday Foto’s. So I’ve been waiting for the right time to get a picture. When I went into Church for Midday Prayer a few days ago, the lighting, with the sun shining brightly through the clerestory windows and throwing beautiful dappled patterns through the stained glass, was wonderful.

The picture below of the font has had very little post production work done on it. I just had to straighten things up a bit where I didn’t get the camera very level. It’s showing the natural light that was in the church that day.

The base of the font dates from 1921, when it was put in the position it’s in now. But the font itself is thirteenth century.
