Station Three

– Jesus falls the first time –

Jesus, the cross you have been carrying is very heavy. You are becoming weak and almost ready to faint, and you fall down. Nobody seems to want to help you. The soldiers are interested in getting home, so they yell at you and try to get you up and moving again.

Sometimes we put things off. Sometimes we give up too easily, and don’t do our work as well as we know we can.

Help us to do our work as well as we can and to finish what we have started. When we fall, help us get up again and keep going.

O God, you know us to be set in the midst of so many great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: Grant us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers, and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
