In this video the Christian writer and speaker, Adrian Plass, shares his experience of clinical depression, and gives advice on how to help people suffering with it. From my own experiences of clinical depression, I think Adrian is spot on with his advice.

I have put a couple of videos of Adrian Plass on here before. We normally think of him as being very funny. But he can also be very profound. This is him reading an amazing poem that he wrote some years ago — there are no pictures in the video, just the words of the poem.

I first heard this when I went to see him live in 1996. It moved me then, and still does today. It sums up so much the way I feel about our free will and love for God — it has to be our choice to love, or it’s meaningless.

I have always been something of a fan of Adrian Plass; he is very funny. In this video he’s giving a (not so) typical set of Announcements before a service in an Anglican Church — he must have been to Godmanchester!

Adrian Plass encounters temptation

I have read most of the books written by Adrian Plass, and have seen him live. He is a very funny man, who always makes me laugh — a lot! But he is also a man who gets me thinking. He covers some really quite deep subjects, but does so in an amazingly light way; and in amongst the entertainment, you suddenly realize you’ve learned something helpful in your discipleship journey too.
