
I quite often listen to works by the composer John Rutter. In fact, I rarely listened to any choral music until I discovered Rutter. But he has changed my listening habits considerably. His settings of traditional words are really quite inspiring.
One such work is his setting of the ancient Te Deum, in the YouTube video below, performed by The Bow Valley Chorus. The Te Deum is a prayer that dates from the 4th century. It’s an early Christian hymn of praise — so not very Lenten.
